NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 29, 2025) – Live Nation has announced that they are opening a new music venue in Nashville called The Truth. The 4,400 capacity indoor music venue is set to open fall 2026 in the Wedgewood Houston neighborhood.

“The legendary songwriter Harlan Howard said all you need for a good country song is three chords and the truth. The Truth is built on that same idea,” says Sally Williams, President of Nashville Music & Business Strategy, Live Nation. “Our goal is to create a space that could only exist here—where raw, honest music meets world-class production, and where fans and artists from across all genres can connect in a way that feels unmistakably Nashville.”

Designed by Blueprint Studio, Live Nation’s in-house design and development group, The Truth will feature a flexible floor plan with three levels of fans close to the stage, accommodating both standing-room and fully seated shows. The venue seeks to reflect Nashville’s creative DNA, from the inclusion of Harlan’s, a whiskey bar honoring the legendary songwriter, to the Vinyl Room, an exclusive two-story listening lounge celebrating the neighborhood’s deep vinyl roots.

As part of its launch, Live Nation is investing in Nashville’s creative community through multi-year commitments to the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) and the W.O. Smith Music School.

“NSAI is excited that Live Nation is recognizing Nashville songwriters as the backbone of our music community,” shares Bart Harbison, Executive Director, NSAI. “From naming their amazing new venue, ‘The Truth,’ derived from legendary songwriter Harlan Howard’s famous saying, to lyric displays and other songwriter recognitions inside the remarkable facility, the space will highlight the important contribution of songwriters to the industry ecosystem. In addition, Live Nation’s generous financial support for NSAI will help us continue the work we do for the songwriting profession. We are very enthusiastic about the possibilities we can employ as we work together.”

The Truth is projected every year to generate $74 million in economic impact, support 430 jobs, and contribute $6 million in state and local tax revenue.

“The backbone of Music City is the songwriters that put words to our feelings, stories, and joys. I’m excited that The Truth will be a venue that is dedicated to cultivating and supporting great songwriting,” Mayor Freddie O’Connell says. “When I expressed interest in music at a young age, the W.O. Smith Music School helped cultivate my passion, and allowing more folks to have that opportunity is a great way we ensure all Nashvillians can follow their Music City dreams.”

“Culturally, we see The Truth as a connector,” Williams shares. “Our partnerships with the Nashville Songwriters Association International and the W.O. Smith Music School are about investing in Nashville’s next generation of creators. Together, those programs will create opportunities for mentorship, performance, and inspiration right here in the neighborhood, ensuring that The Truth contributes to the city’s creative pipeline as much as its skyline.

“Long term, our hope is that The Truth becomes an anchor for Wedgewood-Houston, a gathering place where artists, neighbors, and the music industry intersect; where the creative class continues to thrive and where the spirit of Nashville keeps evolving.”

Bank inks big lease to anchor South End office tower

(August 14, 2025) – Story Highlights

  • First Horizon Corp. leases 88,167 square feet at 110 East.
  • First Horizon will move into new space in 2026.
  • 110 East is now approximately 70% leased.

A Memphis, Tennessee-based financial institution has signed a significant lease at 110 East in South End.

First Horizon Corp. (NYSE: FHN) will be the office tower’s anchor tenant, leasing 88,167 square feet across 110 East’s top three floors. The move consolidates two existing First Horizon office locations in Charlotte.

First Horizon will move into the new space in the first half of 2026.

Bradley Rice with Fischer CRE worked with First Horizon’s Tina Fullard and Joanna Britt in lease negotiations. Rhea Greene, Jennifer Kurz and John Hannon with Trinity Partners represented the landlord. 110 East is now about 70% leased.

First Horizon is among Charlotte’s 10 largest banks. Its overall assets totaled $82.1 billion as of June 2025, with 17 branches in the region. Its local deposits reach nearly $1.6 billion.

Laura Bunn, mid-Atlantic regional president for First Horizon, said the bank’s employee base has grown 150% in the last year in the Charlotte market. The new office will accommodate continued growth.

“With so much talent located in Charlotte, particularly in the financial services industry, it is home to our local banking team, corporate line of business leaders and associates with company-wide responsibilities,” Bunn said in a news release today.

Greene, Trinity Partners managing partner, said 110 East continues to see leasing success because it checks the boxes for companies looking for quality Class A office space.

“Ownership’s thoughtful design, building quality and service, and amenity experience in South End’s most compelling location is one of the market’s most complete and meaningful work experiences,” she said. “The building’s leasing success is proof of that, and current tour activity and interest show no signs of slowing down.”

Most recently, Spar Group signed a 16,000-square-foot lease at 110 East for its corporate headquarters relocation. Other office tenants at 110 East include Coinbase, the nation’s largest crypto exchange, which signed a deal for 58,600 square feet earlier this year; SouthState Bank, which is leasing 40,000 square feet for its new regional headquarters; storage solutions firm Patterson Pope, which is occupying about 6,500 square feet; and health insurance company Humana, which is occupying about 13,500 square feet.

The 370,000-square-foot, 24-story office tower delivered in March 2024. It has 13 office floors on top of a 900-space parking deck. An 11th-floor sky lounge with unobstructed views of uptown includes a 3,000-square-foot terrace, 4,000-square-foot fitness center and conference space.

The Iberian Pig, an Atlanta-based tapas restaurant, announced in May that it will occupy 4,600 square feet at the building’s ground floor. The restaurant will open next year.

Stiles Corp. and Shorenstein Properties, the developers behind 110 East, are also renovating an adjacent 12,000-square-foot retail property. The Jones Building, a 100-year-old building at 1820 South Blvd., was formerly home to Tupelo Honey until the restaurant closed in early 2020. Renovations are expected to deliver later this year.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 16, 2025) – AJ Capital announced Wednesday details related to the residential component of its planned Belle Meade Village mixed-use development — with demolition on the site now fully underway.

According to a release, The Residences at Belle Meade Village will be comprised of two high-end residential buildings, designed in a traditional manner and each with approximately 40 units. The Residences are being designed by New York-based Meyer Davis, the founders of which — Will Meyer and Grace Davis — originally are from Nashville.

According to a release, the future buildings (to stand approximately eight floors) and their homes “will thoughtfully blend worldly sensibilities with the timeless heritage of the surrounding Belle Meade community.”

A completion date is anticipated for late 2027, with the main address of the overall project 4500 Harding Pike.

Residents of The Residences at Belle Meade Village will have access to more than 16,000 square feet of amenities: a pool with private cabanas, a five-acre private park, a library, a piano room, screening and listening rooms, a golf simulator, whiskey and cigar rooms, lounges and a private Mahjong room.

Wellness amenities will include a gym facility, Pilates studio, sauna, spa, cold plunge, salon, and private treatment rooms.

Other amenities will include a 24-hour doorman, concierge and valet offerings.

The first preview tours will begin in the fall at a sales gallery under construction at 4525 Harding Pike, across from the Belle Meade Village site. The release does not include presales pricing.

AJ Capital paid $87 million for the property in July 2023 (read more about the company’s mixed-use project plans here).

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 16, 2025) – Just shy of a month after demolition began on the former Belle Meade Plaza, AJ Capital Partners is breaking down plans for a portion of the Belle Meade Village development that sits on a 15.5-acre site along Harding Pike.

New renderings and details focus on two buildings comprised of 80 for-sale units and over 16,000 sqft of amenities that will make up The Residences at Belle Meade Village. This contributes to larger plans for 388 residential spaces and 78 hotel rooms.

Throughout the eight-floor buildings, residents will have access to curated features:

  • Lifestyle | Pool with private cabanas, 5-acre park, and golf simulator
  • Specialty rooms | Library, piano, Mahjong, screening/listening, and whiskey/cigar rooms
  • Wellness | Gym, Pilates studio, sauna, spa, cold plunge, salon, and private treatment rooms

The residential component is expected to be complete by late 2027, but tours begin this fall at the sales gallery — 4525 Harding Pk.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 16, 2025) – New renderings have been released in the project that would turn the old Belle Meade Shopping Plaza into Belle Meade Village.

Soon, the plaza will be transformed into the village, which is slated to be a 780,000-square-foot mixed-use development with 400 condos, apartments, hotels, restaurants, stores and green space.

In March, demolition began at the Kroger, which was a staple of the plaza.

“Belle Meade Village will transform a currently underutilized 15.5-acre site into an iconic design-driven residential and retail village within one of Nashville’s best-known legacy communities.

This 780,000-square-foot mixed-use development includes storefronts and restaurants, condos, and rental apartments within one primely situated walkable community ecosystem.

Recreational upgrades will include the activation of Richland Creek and connection to its namesake greenway, connecting residents to the pedestrian-friendly Sylvan Park neighborhood and McCabe park. Green space, public walkways, and parks will comprise approximately sixty percent of the project site.”

“The Residences at Belle Meade Village will be comprised of two boutique residential buildings, each with approximately 40 homes. A new fast-casual Italian restaurant is opening in Wake Forest.

Piada Italian Street Food, which was founded in 2010, is opening its 57th location with the new Triangle store, a public relations rep working with Piada told The News & Observer in an email. It will be the third in the area, joining other restaurants in Raleigh and Morrisville.

But several other new businesses are also planned for the Wake Forest development where Piada is located.

Here are details about the new Italian fast-casual brand and retailers expected to open at Grove 98.

When and where will Piada open in Wake Forest?

Piada will open Sept. 9 at 529 Dr. Calvin Jones Hwy (NC 98) in Wake Forest. The restaurant is located in the Grove 98 development.

The restaurant, which employs 30 people, will donate 50% of all opening day sales to Wake Forest High School.

What’s on Piada’s menu?

Piada serves hand-rolled “piadas,” which are stuffed with vegetables, meats, cheese, lettuce and other fillings.

The restaurant open for lunch and dinner also offers salads and tossed pastas.

Customers can choose from a set menu of piadas, salads and pastas, or customize a dish with proteins, sauces and dressings, and toppings.

In addition to the entrees, Piada makes side dishes such as calamari, bread, lobster bisque and meatballs.

Desserts include cookies and brownies.

What else is coming to Wake Forest’s Grove 98?

Several restaurants and other businesses have been announced for the Wegmans-anchored mixed-use development located off Dr. Calvin Jones Highway at Ligon Mill Road, according to a Wake Forest Business & Industry Partnership article from July.

Five Guys: The popular burger chain will open at 535 Dr. Calvin Jones Hwy in September, according to the restaurant’s website. While it is the first location for Wake Forest, Five Guys has many stores throughout the Triangle, including in Apex, Cary, Garner, Raleigh and Knightdale.

Dave’s Hot Chicken: The national hot chicken brand opened its first Triangle restaurant in Holly Springs late last year, The N&O previously reported, and the franchise owners had plans to open several more in the area.

Bibibop Asian Grill: This fast-casual Asian restaurant debuted in the Triangle a couple of years ago with a restaurant in Cary. Bibibop allows customers to create bowls with proteins, rice, noodles, salads, hot and cold toppings, and sauces. Bibibop did not immediately respond to The N&O’s request for more information about the Wake Forest restaurant, but the company is hiring for a location in the city.

The NOW: Founded in Los Angeles, this massage chain offers massages and enhancements including deep tissue, herbal heat therapy and scalp renewal, among other options. The NOW has two locations in Raleigh and one in Cary. The company did not immediately respond to The N&O’s request for confirmation, but the company is hiring a general manager for a location on Ligon Mill Road in Wake Forest.

VIO Med Spa: Offering a variety of aesthetic and wellness services, VIO Med Spa is expected to open a new location in Wake Forest. The chain already operates in the Triangle, specifically in Holly Springs and Durham.

O2 Fitness: At the facility — the first for Wake Forest but not for the Triangle — members will find fitness equipment including treadmills, elliptical machines, bikes and free weights, group training studios, yoga and barre rooms, functional athletic training turf, a coworking space, a Kids Club, locker rooms, lounges and other amenities.

Lee Nails Spa: This franchise salon offers manicures, pedicures and other services. According to the Wake Forest Business & Industry Partnership article, it is expected to open this year.

Just over three years after the opening of destination grocer Wegman’s, Wake Forest’s Grove 98 is set to welcome its latest round of new businesses. Among those planning to occupy space at Grove 98’s northeast quadrant are dining concepts, personal care services and a big-box fitness facility.

The unveiling of Grove 98’s third phase comes as commercial space in the northwest quad is fully leased and operating. “Everything there is done and occupied and open for business,” says Mark Hebard, Senior Development Director for the Carolinas at Stiles Corporation, the Florida-based real estate company developing approximately  70-acres of the Grove-98 tract.

“We have some really good tenants there,” Hebard adds. Also attracting attention in the Phase II quad is the residential component. A 230-unit apartment complex known as The Lindley has been complete since last fall, with 133 units leased as of late June, Hebard reports.

Set to open later this year in the property’s final phase will be Five Guys, Lee Nails Spa, Dave’s Hot Chicken, BIBIBOP Asian Grill, Piada Italian Street Food, VIO Med Spa, and massage provider, The NOW

A popular international chain featuring burgers, hot dogs and fries, Five Guys was founded in 1986 and is based in Alexandria, Virgina. It will be the private company’s 47th North Carolina location. Salads, flatbread sandwiches, and pasta bowls are popular items at Piada Italian Street Food, a young, growing fast-casual brand from Ohio. Piada serves dine-in and take-out meals, as well as catering. Hebard expects Five Guys and Piada will be open for business by the end of this year

Franchise nail salon Lee Nails Spa provides manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, and related services. VIO Med Spa provides specialty aesthetics and wellness services such as body contouring, skin rejuvenation, hydrofacials, and IV therapy. The Cleveland, Ohio-based franchise concept has 56 locations across the country, including four in North Carolina. Both businesses plan to open their doors to customer traffic in Q4 2024, Hebard says.

Dave’s Hot Chicken started in 2017 in a Hollywood, Florida parking lot with a little more than $900 and an Instagram page. It will be the fifth North Carolina location for the national chain, which serves chicken tenders and sandwiches with customized spice levels ranging from “Lite Mild” to “Reaper.” “I’m sure it’ll be a very popular spot,” Hebard says. BIBIBOP serves healthy, Korean-inspired meals centered on customized rice bowls, specialty sauces, and fruity beverages. The chain was founded in 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. Its Grove 98 location will be BIBIBOP’s second in North Carolina.

Founded in Los Angeles, The NOW creates “an oasis of relaxation” for its customers. In addition to a wide variety of massage treatments, NOW therapists provide guided sound baths, meditations, and tips for home-based stretching. The firm’s three other North Carolina locations are in Brier Creek, Raleigh’s North Hills district, and downtown Cary.

Hebard says two remaining spaces have letters of intent, and he expects leases to be signed this summer. Work also is commencing on an outparcel space along the eastern edge of Phase III that will become an Outback Steakhouse. The Australia-themed restaurant chain currently has over 1,000 locations worldwide. It is owned by Bloomin’ Brands [Nasdaq: BLMN], based in Tampa, Fla., where the first Outback Steakhouse launched in 1988. Hebard expects the restaurant to open by October 2025. A final, single-acre outparcel in the northeast quad will likely be developed for another food concept, with details on those plans becoming available later this summer.

Construction is about halfway done on another outparcel which will house O2 Fitness Clubs’ new Wake Forest location. Stiles Corp is not involved in the vertical construction of the 20,000-sq.-ft. building, Hebard says, though he estimates the destination gym will open in early 2025. O2 Fitness, launched in 2002, now has 18 locations in North Carolina and South Carolina. A unit of Raleigh-based MDO Holdings, the fitness chain offers personal training, group fitness classes, physical therapy, nutritional counseling, and more.

The northeast quad will be Stiles Corp’s final phase at the well-traveled intersection of Dr. Calvin Jones Highway and Ligon Mill Road. “For the most part, Grove 98 proper will be completed,” Hebard says. He credits the Town of Wake Forest for helping keep the company’s vision on track. “Everything’s been up to par,” he says. “The Town has been accommodating to work with.”

Founded in 1951 and headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Stiles is active in Florida’s major markets. In addition to Grove 98, the full-service real estate company also has projects in Nashville and Charlotte, where Hebard maintains an office. He says there are no current plans for other Triangle development projects, but that could change. “We’re always looking, but right now, there’s nothing definite,” he says.

“Grove 98 is adding significantly to Wake Forest’s inventory of high-end consumer businesses and national retail and restaurant brands. The result is convenient community amenities, new jobs, and expanded municipal tax-base,” says Jason Cannon, President of the Wake Forest Business & Industry Partnership (WFBIP). “You can literally watch opportunity taking share at Grove 98 that’s going to benefit everyone here,” Cannon says. “Stiles Corporation is synonymous with upmarket commercial real estate development, and the fact that Wake Forest is on a par with Charlotte, Nashville, Orlando, and other high-growth destinations is something we are proud of here in Wake Forest. WFBIP will continue to support their success here, and we look forward to seeing more great things take shape at Grove 98.”

The Main Las Olas isn’t the typical office building in South Florida. The project marks an architectural break with the post-modern and Mediterranean-influenced designs common in Fort Lauderdale.

Completed in late 2020, the building at 201 E. Las Olas Blvd. has more than 1 million square feet of space split between two towers with offices called The Main and an apartment building known as Novo Las Olas. Developed with local firm Stiles and San Francisco-based Shorenstein Properties, the project was designed by Atlanta-based Cooper Carry in an effort to balance the needs of both employers and residents.

The building’s 10-foot ceilings helped it become almost fully leased at a time of low demand for offices.

Floor-to-ceiling glass windows and steel accents illuminate the 368,265 square feet of office space that JPMorgan Chase, the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority, and about 20 other firms have decided to call home. Stiles made the building its headquarters once the project was completed.

The office tower was the first in Fort Lauderdale to feature 10-foot ceilings at the time it was built, according to Stiles’ website.

It has a deck on the 10th floor, with an open-air terrace alongside a fitness center. The building is LEED Gold certified, with hurricane-resistant windows and energy-efficient touchless fixtures.
